About

Hey there! I’m ShaElla Askew-Henry—Communications Manager by day, social media strategist by passion, and storyteller always. I believe in the power of good coffee, good Wi-Fi, and great content.

When I’m not building brands or breaking down analytics, you can find me being a mom to four, a wife, a proud “Gigi,” and the unofficial spokesperson for kangaroo-themed chaos (yes, Kangaroo Willie has his own storyline—don’t ask unless you have snacks).

My journey has taken me from shy student to spotlight speaker, from sending my kids off to school to advocating for them in the halls of Congress. I write about everything from education and advocacy to branding and Black girl joy—because life is too complex (and too hilarious) for just one lane.

Let’s connect and collaborate—or just share memes and marketing tips. I’m game for both.

The district says the robot was designed to support teachers, not replace them, but I still believe we are losing the plot. A.I. Pulling Up to Support A.I....

My Pookie Bear exhausted from watching me work. It's hard being a baby. Today, I was in the house grinding. And when I say grinding, I mean doing all the things. Cohort applications. Speaking engagement applications. Video interviews. Scheduling content. Revising strategies. Analyzing data. The whole nine. I was literally sitting there in my muumuu, working like I had somewhere to be. 😂 Meanwhile, my five month old son, Dexter, was right there with me. After a while, I looked at him and...

Why Space Design Is Storytelling (And What Schools Can Learn From Retail)
Photo Courtesy of Banana Republic I didn’t expect a mall to make me think this deeply. But during a past business trip to California, I found myself walking through Westfield Century City , an open-air shopping center that felt less like a mall and more like a carefully curated experience. Natural light. Open walkways. Greenery. Space to linger. Space to breathe. And then I walked into a Banana Republic concept store and had a very specific thought: “This place wants me to become a better...
